Snaking around

Perro the dog was one day digging around to see what he could
find. He was looking for something to eat and being inquisitive.
But to his surprise he found a snake in a snake’s pit. This one was
very dangerous - it was poisonous and it was protecting snake
eggs in its lair. When Perro saw the snake, he ran in fear and
jumped on his friend the Cattybara’s back.
The Cattybara tried to wriggle him off because he was in the
middle of a sleep and he had woken up very grumpy.
Perro cried: “Oh my gosh, oh my gosh there’s a snake! You must
rescue me!”
The Cattybara replied, “Get off me - I was in the middle of a sleep!”
But Perro said: “You’ve got to help me now otherwise it’s going
to eat us both!”
